One thing I love about having photography as a hobby is it’s ability to give you a different perspective on the world around you. I find it really enables you to take a step back and see beauty in some unexpected places.
I tend to find myself quite drawn to architectural and industrial sights and scenes as subjects for photography. I don’t know what it is that draws me really…I think often for the architectural subjects its something to do with the geometry of lines – straight and parallel lines that draw the eye towards a certain point in two buildings next to each other for example.
Colour and texture also often catches my eye – like this graffiti-ed brickwork spotted on a recent walk…
What do you think? Do you ever find your eye caught by something a little unexpected?
